A place for you to tell us how we're stupid and about all the things we don't know or understand, Dad.

Quiz Time
It was the tumultuous 60s, the country was at war, and the Democratic convention descended upon Chicago to select a Presidential candidate. Do you know was nominated? Or have I fooled you again?
Do you mean 1864 or 1968? Both were in Chicago and we were at war in both (Civil War and Vietnam). 1864 was McClellan (lost to Lincoln) and 1968 was Hubert Humphrey (lost to Nixon). The 1968 actually ended in violence, see my new post: http://www.american-presidents.org/2008/08/important-political-conventions.html.
You've got to click the link to see which one I meant... but you did catch the trick that I could have been talking about either, well done. And those are some interesting convention facts at the American Presidents blog, although I'd nominate RNC 1880.
If you're here by way of the mothership (www.washingtonpugilist.com), then you know who we are, what we are, and what we're capable of. If you're just in off the street and looking for a bathroom stall of political brouhaha, do what you have to here first, then be sure to check out The Washington Pugilist home page. And wash your hands, creep.
